Working with an authorized Capillus physician is the only way to be sure you’re getting genuine Capillus treatments with ideal medical supervision. Imitation products available online and over the counter can be ineffective or even dangerous. Dr. Gray first makes sure that your hair loss situation will benefit from laser therapy, then orders your laser cap directly from Capillus. Over the course of treatment, he will document your progress and make adjustments to your treatment plan as results require. Low-Level Laser Hair Therapy works on biological processes, so a medical professional should always supervise your treatment.
Research presented at 2013 ISHRS workshop
An abstract dealing with Low Level Laser Therapy in female pattern hair loss was presented at the Annual Orlando Live Surgery Workshop in 2013 by Dr. Grant F. Koher. The purpose of the study was to look at hair growth in female patients with androgenic alopecia when using Low Level Laser Therapy.
Eighty-two patients were accepted into the study and the treatments consisted of 20 minutes of treatment over a 26 week period.
Hair restoration results:
After 20 treatments:
- 92% of the patients had increased hair count of more than 10%
- 60% of the patients had increased hair count of more than 30%
After 36 treatments:
- 96% of the patients had increased hair count of more than 20%
- 88% of the patients had increased hair count of more than 30%
After 52 treatments:
- 97% of the patients had increased hair count of more than 20%
- 77% of the patients had increased hair count of more than 51%
The conclusion was that Low Level Laser Therapy provides medically significant treatment of androgenic alopecia in females by promoting hair growth and/or reduction of the rate of hair loss.
If your hair has begun to thin, laser therapy might help prevent further loss and promote new growth. To find out if you’re a candidate, schedule your consultation with Dr. Gray.
