About Dr. Gray

Dr. Arthur Gray has always been passionate about helping people. When he was three years old, he began telling others he wanted to be a doctor and never once doubted his decision.

I have been good with my hands all my life, and I felt that I had the compassion and work ethic to do well as a surgeon.

Road to Hair Restoration

Recognizing the satisfaction in helping patients as an anesthesiologist, over a decade ago, Dr. Gray also knew the Middle Georgia area was lacking a specialized hair restoration resource in the local medical community. After training in the art and science of hair transplantation and restoration with the skill sets and abilities required, he knew he had finally found his calling.

An ISHRS Surgeon

member of international society of hair restoration surgery

Dr. Gray is a member of the distinguished International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS). This worldwide organization sets the standard for physicians specializing in hair restoration surgery and is constantly raising the bar for the industry. Gaining membership in the ISHRS was a crowning achievement for a surgeon so committed to innovating through ethics and excellence.

A Unique Medical Practice Offering the Right Answers

Patients from numerous states travel to the Hair Transplant & Restoration Center to access Dr. Gray's transparent medical approach to treating hair loss. Living in Macon for over 35 years, he knew what was missing locally in the specialized area of hair and scalp and created a practice filling in the gaps and needs.

He has created an unparalleled resource by bringing together a comprehensive suite of proven solutions in a single practice for those searching for hair loss answers. While he began by offering traditional surgical hair restoration procedures, it wasn't long before he realized that serving his patients would mean incorporating more treatment methods. As new applications of Hair Follicle Regeneration emerged, Dr. Gray began to mold his practice into the innovative resource it is today. Dr. Gray also realized that the solution for every patient was not a hair transplant or medical therapy, and so he partnered with Cesare Ragazzi to offer a top-of-the-line hair system for patients.

Dr. Gray’s Medical Background

Dr. Gray earned his pre-medical degree at Emory University majoring in chemistry. While at Emory, he was inducted into ODK, which is a national honorary leadership society. Soon after college, he and his wife were married and moved to Augusta, Georgia, where Dr. Gray began medical school at the Medical College of Georgia. After medical school he was accepted into the Anesthesiology Residency at the Medical College of Georgia and received the Top Resident Award, and became Board Certified.

Dr. Gray and Rosie moved to Macon, Georgia, where he has worked as a board-certified Anesthesiologist since 1984. His first 19 years in the medical field were spent at the HCA Coliseum Hospital where he served in many leadership positions, including Chief of Medical Staff. In 2003, Dr. Gray began working at Navicent Health, a level-one trauma center in downtown Macon.

An Artist's Eyes and a Surgeon's Hands

Dr. Gray has had a successful career in the medical field, but is not ready to hang up his lab coat. The perfect skill set for hair transplant surgery and the desire to continue helping people drive him to continue his practice. An excellent hair transplant surgeon must have strong hand-eye coordination to transplant follicular units, as well as an artistic ability to create a well-suited hairline design. Dr. Gray has honed these skills over many years of medical practice, and finds himself uniquely qualified to help those suffering the effects of hair loss.

Dr. Gray’s Family

Dr. Gray has been married to his wife, Rosie, for more than 40 years. They have four children, Christopher, Matthew, Sarah, and Hampton, two daughters-in-law, Angela and Jill, and four amazing grandchildren.

Interests and Hobbies

Involved in his local community for numerous years, Dr. Gray has served both as an elder of his church and on his children's school board. He and Rosie love to be outdoors enjoying fly-fishing, cooking on his Big Green Egg, and bike riding. He has a talent for photography and painting, and recently attended an intensive training at Watts Atelier just north of San Diego for the purpose of honing his drawing and painting skills.
