This patient had undiagnosed CCCA (Central Centrifugal Cicatricial Alopecia) for years by the time she came to see me. I did a biopsy to confirm my suspicions, and the pathology results were consistent with CCCA. She was treated with intralesional steroids and Hydroxychloroquine.

As you can see in this picture taken ten months after starting treatment, she has received benefit. We will follow her, and after two years, if the disease (CCCA) is no longer active or has not progressed, we will consider a transplant.
