Capillus Laser Cap Therapy For Hair Loss

The Hair Transplant & Restoration Center is an authorized provider of the Capillus Laser Cap, a non-surgical approach to hair loss. The Capillus Laser Cap uses laser light at low levels to stimulate wound healing, mitochondrial DNA, and cytokine secretion. Low Level Laser Therapy has been found to increase hair thickness and hair count for both men and women.

Other Benefits of Wearing the Capillus Laser Cap Include:

  • Increased speed of hair growth
  • Increased manageability of hair
  • Decreased dandruff and/or scalp itch
  • Decreased hair fallout

The Capillus Laser Cap treatment plan involves the patient wearing the cap for 20-30 minutes about 3 times a week. This cap is powered by a rechargeable battery pack and can be worn while doing other activities around the house.

There is no pain associated with the Capillus Laser Cap. The patient will not experience UV radiation, pain, or discomfort.

Studies show that both men and women experience significant improvements in hair restoration, keeping their hair loss from progressing, having thicker and healthier existing hair, and in the growth of new hair. Like any hair restoration treatment, positive results will take about 4 months to notice because of the natural growth cycle of hair.

I’m Dr. Arthur Gray and I have been a board certified anesthesiologist for 30 years working in a trauma center. About 5 years ago, a good friend who also did vein surgery approached me to come work out of his facility during hair transplantations. My practice is the Hair Transplant & Restoration Center, and we try to offer a full range of services to our patients who are suffering from hair loss – not only trying to diagnose the etiology of the hair loss, but offering medical as well as surgical treatments.

When a patient comes for an initial consultation, we will spend about an hour with them, and besides getting a thorough history of their hair loss and any medical issues that might contribute, on the females we will typically do a hair check so that we can really follow them and see how our therapy is working over time. We will do the normal photographs as well as a dermoscopy, so we can really take a close look at their scalp.

I’m really excited about this Capillus Laser Cap. As I’ve told other people, it’s amazing to think that this red wavelength of light, which is around 640-650 nanometers, causes hair to grow. It really only penetrates about 2 millimeters below the skin surface, but it’s enough to impart energy to the cells. So, right where the level of a stem cell on a hair is, and it makes the hair grow. It helps these very thin, wispy, vellous hairs revert to a thicker state. As with most of these medical treatments, they work but you have to use them. And if you don’t use them, they don’t work. So, compliance is all important. It’s making a commitment to it.

With a laser comb, it means that you’re literally going to have to comb your hair for 30 minutes, three times a week. So, you might start out with great vigor doing that but over time it may end up in a drawer. With the laser cap, 30 minutes go by in a snap – you’re watching a TV show, you’re reading a book, you’re cooking dinner, whatever you want to do and 30 minutes goes by. Compliance is great and that’s why it works so well.

Before I sold it to anybody, I wanted to try it myself to see if I could personally recommend it. I would say within four months I could tell a great difference for myself with thinning hair becoming thicker. We have had patients where the women would buy it and they would report back that their husbands loved it too. That’s a great thing, because even though you’re putting this investment in this one product you’re not just buying it for yourself. Both husbands and wives can use it together. So we were able to offer this 100% satisfaction guarantee. There are just very few people who will return it because if you use it, it works.
